PRE-CANSKATE

Pre-CanSkate is Skate Canada’s nationally standardized learn-to-skate program designed for children three to four years of age. Children are taught basic skating fundamentals, with a focus on continuous movement and creative play. Sakters in this program work towards completing their Pre-CanSkate ribbon.

 

Pre-CanSkate runs in Eganville and Cobden.

Eganville: Mondays, Jan. 5 – Mar. 23 at 4:30pm
(no skating Feb. 16 or Mar. 16)

Cobden: Sundays, Jan. 4 – Mar. 22 at 1:10pm

(no skating Feb. 8 or Mar. 15)
 

CANSKATE

CanSkate is Skate Canada’s nationally standardized learn-to-skate program. Designed for children four and older, it teaches the fundamentals of forward and backward skating, stopping, balance, turning, forward and backward cross-cuts etc.

Beginner hockey and ringette players can also enhance their game by improving skating skills with our program!

Skaters progress through Stages 1-6 in the standardized program. We group children into Green, Yellow, Red and Blue groups that earn badges & report cards along the way!

Once skaters have completed the Blue Group requirements; they can bridge into the Star Skate program beginning with Future Stars.

 

CanSkate runs in Eganville and Cobden.

Fridays, Jan. 9 - Mar. 27 at 5:30 pm
(no skating Jan. 23 or Feb. 6, there IS skating March Break Friday, Mar. 20)

Cobden: Winter Season

Sundays, Jan. 5 - Mar. 22 at 1:10 pm (no skating Feb. 8, Mar. 15)

**CanSkate Excellence Recognition Program recognizes Clubs that are delivering the CanSkate program at or above the national delivery standards set by Skate Canada. Eganville Skating Club is proud to have achieved this status in 2024 and continues to offer programming that meets this standard.

STAR SKATE

STARSkate has been Skate Canada’s mainstay of figure skating in Canada for more than 40 years. The STARSkate program offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate, synchro, and artistic skating.

 

Unique in Canada, this program teaches figure skating skills in a group and/or private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner and includes specifically designed awards and incentives. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system (although not mandatory). Skaters may also choose to enter competitions!

 

StarSkate runs in Eganville (Wed, Fri) & Cobden (Sun).

Regular Season - Oct. 15 - Mar. 27

ADULT SKATING (NEW!)

Adult skating is growing in popularity, providing opportunities for teenagers and adults to experience recreational skating. Perfect for beginner skaters or for those who want to further develop their skills for Skate Canada Tests and competitive opportunities in a fun environment. 

Cobden: Sundays 12:00 pm, beginning Oct. 19
